2022 Update

The past 15 months were different. I've been lucky to dodge major injuries, and any surgery for the past 25 years of my athletic career (not counting the broken leg from skiing in first grade or the broken wrist from lacrosse in sixth grade). Then, I found myself with left wrist pain during the 2021 golf season. The pain persisted throughout the season, ultimately resulting in wrist surgery in December 2021. Six months of physical therapy passed and I was cleared to get back into golf. Progress was slow but at least it was progress, until a freak accident happened with our 80 pound dog, Boogie, resulting in a spiral fracture of my left ring finger. I came out of my second surgery in seven months with four screws holding my finger together and ready to tackle my physical therapy rehab regimen. Thankfully, I had a great medical team around me from my hand surgeon, Dr. Christina Endress, to my wonderful CHT's Laura and Val with Comprehensive Hand & Rehabilitation. It was a good thing I enjoyed my therapists' company as I ended up spending nearly 8 hours a week with them for the next six months. Scroll down to see what kept me busy during my "time away from the course"...

01

Golf Coach

I shared my passion and knowledge of the game by coaching high school girls from our local public school. Their playing levels varied from novice to experienced - one player had never touched a golf club before while another player qualified for the Drive, Chip & Putt National Championship at Augusta National. Collectively, we focused on the fundamentals of the game and how to practice effectively. The girls went on to win their division, placed 2nd at regionals, and finished fifth at the state championship.

Golf Instructor

I shared my technical knowledge of the game by giving golf lessons (to mostly ladies!) around the Metro Detroit area. It was so fun to see these ladies improve their games and develop confidence on the golf course.
